EDISON JUNIOR'S ALLOWANCE

Every week Thomas Edison gave his son a $50 allowance just to stay out of trouble, and each week Tom Jr. had to sign a receipt for the money. As is obvious when you compare the receipt to the senior Edison's signature below, Tom Junior modelled his signature after his famous father's. (Both men signed their names either as "Thos." or "Thomas".)
